Senate Approves Buhari’s $22.7bn Loan Request

The Nigerian Senate approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to borrow $22.7 billion externally. The upper legislative chamber okayed the request on Thursday amid objections from some senators.

Many Nigerians have reacted to the latest controversial move by the Nigerian Senate. See comments below:

"There should be a way citizens can protest to potential creditor countries that they are not in support of some nonsense loans being applied for by their Govts. Ideas anyone?"

Another person @alive citizens tweeted:
The solution is to register a protest. Let d whole world know & let it be on record that anyone who grants loans to this regime is in PARTNERSHIP with CRIME. Let there be a video documentation of d protests featuring key personalities, old & young, artists, sports, all vocation.
