The long-awaited day is finally here as President Muhammadu Buhari has now addressed the Nation on the coronavirus pandemic after months of failing to speak on the deadly virus like other African presidents have done.
Bashir Ahmad, the personal assistant to the president on new media shared a Twitter video of Buhari addressing the country.
In the video, the President said: “We are working with [Federal] Ministry of Health on protecting our citizens from #COVIDー19, as a government, this is now a key priority for us”
Meanwhile, this didn't go down well for many Nigerians who were left unimpressed with the President over his speech.
One commenter wrote: 'Bashir watched this video and deemed it fit for public consumption? This is obviously not a live broadcast and must have been edited once or twice. Wahala dey.'
Another wrote: 'There u go guys! He has u what u hv been waiting to hear. Pick errors from his speech n make it a topic of discussion. But do we really need this right now? He has spoken, digest d message n work with it. May God help us all.'
Nigeria currently has 30 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
